What Just Happened? Unique moments that became a life changing career.

What makes an experience remarkable? When those moments happen, what do we do with the information acquired by the event? For me, they were subtle lessons tucked back in my memory bank, never less powerful but so very rarely reflected upon until my late 30’s. It was then that I officially began my journey through tireless, seemingly undirected yet passionate learning about wellness, healing, life, and specifically selected subjects that made my heart and soul sing. In the end they were the impetus for Life Touch Therapy and Aviana’s singular blend of pure essential oil. I call them ‘God moments’ that called me back to my life purpose; touching people with skilled hands, open heart, and purposeful natural scents. Eventually, I was encouraged to teach my body of work with others who wanted to support individual who struggle physically, emotionally and spiritually. And, it all started in the 3rd grade …
I love the quote by Paulo Coelho: “I’m not a body with a soul, I’m a soul that has a visible part called the body.” An early in life experience helped that make sense the first time I heard it. I was in my third-grade classroom while Mrs. Vance was teaching class when I realized I was not ‘in my body’ but observing my body, and the classroom, just above. I can recall quickly falling back into my body after first examining how I was participating in the moment through eyes that see and ears that brought in sound. Back in the day, surrounded by straight A siblings, I was considered the dreamer, someone the teachers worried if I would graduate from grade school. My friends thought I was making up stories so I knew to stop talking about it. I smile in reflection. I loved my childhood, rarely minded being the odd one out but wished for someone who understood.
When I first heard of out of body experiences, I thought perhaps the people were a little left of normal (smiles) but this memory surfaced and I put my judgement, once again, in check!
In the few ‘What Just Happened’ video series I will share just a sampling of those subtle life lessons (remarkable life experiences) that with advanced learning, helped me understand what each experience may have been. I hope they will provide past and future students, clients, and friends, a glimpse of the unusual side of my very ‘normal’ 50’s, 60’s, 70’s upbringing that shaped the person that I am.
